A new patch was pushed to the live Dota 2 servers fixing a few bugs and adding some changes. The bugs that were fixed in the 27 Jan patch were recently discovered. One of them affected an popular in-game item for strength heroes and another bug addressed an issue with a Roshan attack. The full patch notes contain multiple other changes that were not bugs but addressed visual upgrades and ingame items. Here are the major bugs that were fixed on the Jan 27th update.
- Armlet HP Bug
The Armlet is an extremely popular item for strength heroes. It is a toggle item that when activated it grants 31 damage, 10 attack speed and 25 strength. According to the tooltip when activated the Armlet will drain 40 HP per second. The drain will not kill the champion if he reaches zero HP and instead it will switch off. Also the bonus in not applied to illusions. What players noticed is the fact that the amount of HP drained is greater than the one mentioned in the tooltip. The patch corrected the problem and no Armlet drains 40 HP per second when it is toggled on.
- Sprout Knocking Roshan onto cliffs
Roshan while not being completely immobile he does move slow and he is immune to knockbacks. It seems that Sprouts could knock him onto cliffs which is something that was not intended to happen. He can be immobilized but he should not be knocked back onto cliffs. Valve fixed this bug in the patch released on Jan 27. The actual intended behavior is to root Roshan into a spot while being Sprouted. Apparently the bug caused him to get knocked onto cliffs.
- Minor Bugs
Additional minor bugs were fixed mostly related to regeneration sources not scaling correctly. The full list of the additional bugs that were fixed has not been published by Valve which means that they were either minor bugs or less known issues. Also they might have not impacted the game to such a degree that it would influence the outcome.
Additional Changes
Last but not least a series of new items were added in the patch. Particle origin points were added for Winter Wyvern and a new style was added to Bearzky. Other changes include the addition of the 90 Sapphire Cask which can contain multiple visual upgrades.
According to the Dota 2 Wiki page some undocumented changes were added in the patch. Krane the Enlightened Upgrade and the Twin Blades of Aurelian were added in the patch even if the official notes do not state anything about these two items. Also several tournament items were added in the patch according to the mined data from the files.
The patch itself did not contain many changes or any balance adjustments. Valve released the Jan 27th patch to address known ingame bugs which are now fixed. The full list of bugs is expected to be published by third party websites as they manage to mine data from the patch files. Meanwhile the Armlet of Mordiggian now works as intended and Nature’s Prophet’s Sprout works as intended and traps Roshan instead of knocking him onto a cliff.
