A $750 Pill And Its Brash Owner Get Competition — And It Costs $1

Turing Pharmaceuticals, a months-old biotech startup that is largely financed by its 32-year-old founder and CEO Martin Shkreli, sparked widespread outrage last month. The reason: shortly after paying $55 million for a 62-year-old drug called Daraprim that’s prescribed for toxoplasmosis and other types of infections, Turing repriced the drug from $13.50 per pill to a stunning $750 per pill.

Shkreli was wholly unapologetic about the move, too, tweeting, when asked how he was able to sleep at night, that he uses Ambien. We’d covered his somewhat stunning reaction to critics here.

Now, Shkreli — a former hedge fund manager who was ousted from his last company, Retrophin — is seemingly about to get a taste of his own medicine. Yesterday, Imprimis Pharmaceuticals, a publicly traded, San Diego-based specialty pharmaceutical company, announced that it has created a customizable alternative to Daraprim that costs roughly $1 per pill.

“While we respect Turing’s right to charge patients and insurance companies whatever it believes is appropriate, there may be more cost-effective compounded options for medications, such as Daraprim, for patients, physicians, insurance companies and pharmacy benefit managers to consider,” the company said in its statement.

Imprimis’ new compound is a combination of pyrimethamine along with another generic drug called leucovorin, a form of folic acid. It isn’t FDA-approved, though its specific ingredients are FDA-approved. As a result, reports the San Diego Union-Tribune, it can be sold through a doctor’s prescription to a specific individual.

Shkreli had founded Turing earlier this year, closing a $90 million Series A round in August that he reportedly led himself. It also included several other unnamed “preeminent institutional equity investors,” according to a statement.

Turing also took on some senior secured debt, which is unusual and may explain why it was eager to alter the pricing of Daraprim.

After coming under fire from critics, Shkreli told ABC News last month that, “We’ve agreed to lower the price of Daraprim to a point that is more affordable and is able to allow the company to make a profit, but a very small profit.”

As of two weeks ago, that still had not happened.

Justin Timberlake brought to tears over wife Jessica Biel

Justin Timberlake is one adoring husband.

During his induction into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame on Saturday, the “Cry Me a River” crooner gushed about his wife of three years, Jessica Biel.

“First I want to thank my beautiful, loving and incredibly understanding-of-her-husband’s-shortcomings wife, Jessica,” Timberlake, 34, said during his tearful speech. “She is a rock and she is tough as nails. Baby, I love you more than I could put into words and more than any song I could ever write.”

Introduced by best pal Jimmy Fallon, Timberlake took to the stage for a solid 20 minutes, thanking fellow artists who have stood before him.

“This is the f—–g coolest thing that has ever happened to me,” the Grammy winner expressed. “I wanna thank all the great artists in this hall. I’m truly honored to merely stand on the shoulders of all these legends I grew up listening to, and I grew up admiring, to say that I stand alongside them now.”

The Memphis native also noted how excited he was to celebrate his third wedding anniversary with Biel, 33.

“We actually just celebrated our third anniversary, which in Hollywood years that’s like a 15-year anniversary,” Timberlake joked.

Lamar Odom was airlifted to Los Angeles on Monday night to continue his recovery, just days after waking up from a four-day coma.

In new photos, Odom can be seen being loaded onto a medical helicopter. A source told PEOPLE that the athlete's estranged wife, Khloé Kardashian, was still by his side.

Odom was being transferred from Nevada's Sunrise Hospital to the ICU at the famed Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A., a source said.

Odom's maternal aunt, JaNean Mercer, was also spotted leaving the hospital after a visit.

Odom was initially hospitalized a week ago after being found unconscious and unresponsive at a Nevada brothel. On Sunday, PEOPLE confirmed that the former NBA player is no longer on a ventilator and is able to breathe on his own.

Despite positive steps toward recovery, another source told PEOPLE there is still a lengthy road ahead of the 35-year-old.

"He's responsive, but there are so many things that could go wrong right now, and the doctors have still been guarded. Khloé has been praying a lot, both to herself and out loud to Lamar. She wants him to know that she's still on his side, and that everyone is praying for him."

The source added that Odom's kidneys have been "very damaged and there is talk about him needing a transplant down the road, but that's a long way off."

Sharon Stone has posed nude for American fashion magazine Harpers Bazaar for a photo spread to accompany an interview in which she talks openly about her struggle to rebuild her career after suffering a massive aneurism in 2001.

Stone, who was nominated for a best supporting actress Oscar for Martin Scorsese's Casino in 1996, has never been shy about revealing her physical attributes.

In 1990, she did a nude photo shoot for Playboy in a bid to jumpstart a career that had stalled in the years since she debuted with a brief cameo in Woody Allen's 1980 comedy Stardust Memories. FDA busts Kim Kardashian selfie for leaving out drug side effects

Goodbye, morning sickness; hello, legal action

Kim Kardashian is no stranger to Instagram promotion, but a recent post has landed her in hot water with an unexpected enemy: the Food and Drug Administration. In a letter dated August 7th, the FDA's Office of Prescription Drug Promotion requested that Kardashian take down a post promoting Diclegis, a drug that combats morning sickness. The office reviewed Kardashian's post in response to a complaint about its validity and found that it was "false and misleading... it omits material facts." Kardashian posted her bit of promotion at the end of July. It's since been removed from Instagram, but you can see it below thanks to a screencap from Forbes:

Kardashian asks her followers to check with their doctors before taking Diclegis, but that wasn't enough of a warning to escape the FDA's scrutiny. The drug hasn't been studied in women with hyperemesis gravidarum, a pregnancy condition that leads to nausea, vomiting, and dehydration. It can also cause severe drowsiness. That combination of uncertainty and side effects wasn't clearly stated in Kardashian's post, and that was the basis of the FDA's ruling. This isn't the first complaint levied against the makers of Diclegis, either: Duchesnay (the drug's producer) was notified of an infraction in November 2013 when the drug was first announced. "OPDP is concerned that Duchesnay is continuing to promote Diclegis in a violative manner," the FDA wrote.

KARDASHIAN MAY NEED TO POST A PHOTOGRAPHIC MEA CULPA

In order to right its wrongs, Duchesnay probably needs to enlist Kardashian's help. The company has to respond in writing to the FDA's letter by August 21st, confirming that it'll comply with the agency's request. (According to The Washington Post, Duchesnay is already proceeding with a response.) More importantly, it has to "disseminate truthful, non-misleading, and complete corrective messages about the issues discussed in this letter to the audience(s) that received the violative promotional materials." The FDA is making this request because of Duchesnay's pattern of bad behavior.

What does this mean for Kardashian? If the government has its way, she'll be posting a photographic mea culpa sometime soon: "To the extent possible, corrective messaging should be distributed using the same media, and generally for the same duration of time and with the same frequency that the violative promotional material was disseminated."

The landlord had warned meek that he didn’t want any party in his residence and had explicitly stated that he didn’t want more than 6 people in there either. The “Imma boss” rapper violated the rule and invited a gang of illustrious celebrities including:Khloé Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown.

The house which has been ransacked, now has hundred thousand dollars damages. Moreover, the owner wants meek to pay for the subsequent damages but the aforementioned refused to negotiate about the amount of payment? Therefore, the landlord has filed a lawsuit against meek and put the names of all the celebrities who attended the party in it in order to get paid and finally find out what happened to the house that night.

The landlord should’ve listened to Meek Mill’s “House party” before allowing him to rent his house!

Nicki Minaj is getting her own video game

More and more celebrities launch their own mobile video game. For example, Meek Mill, Kim Kardashian, and Snoop Dogg already have their own video game. Nevertheless, they will have a strong new challenger, as the female rapper Nicki Minaj is getting her own mobile game!

There are no details about her game but we know that it will be developed by Glu, a publisher of mobile games for smartphone and tablet devices. The company is allegedly also working with Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Kendall and Kylie Jenner, and Jason Statham.

Nicki’s game is expected to be released in mid-2016.

Dr. Dre has announced that he will be donating all of his artist royalties earned from Compton, the pioneering gangsta rapper-producer's long-awaited new album, to help fund a new performing arts and entertainment facility in Compton. The news was announced today on Beats 1 radio DJ Zane Lowe's program.

"I feel it's the right thing to do and I hope everybody appreciates the work I put into this album," Dre said. The mogul revealed that he'll be working with Compton Mayor Aja Brown and her office on the center. "We've reached out to Aja Brown quite a few times in the last month or two," Dre said. "I've been really trying to do something special for Compton and just couldn't quite figure out what it was. She actually had this idea and she was already in the process of working on it. I said, 'Boom, this is what we should do.'"

Dre will premiere the album tonight on Apple Music, by playing it as a loop for three hours beginning at 6 p.m. PST. At 9 p.m., Lowe will host a radio show dedicated to the album. The LP will come out officially on Friday, August 7th.

Speaking to Lowe, Dre mentioned the help he got from emerging artists on the album. "The new artists I got like King Mez and Justus, these two guys actually came in and just grinded with me throughout the entire project," Dre said. "As a matter of fact, most of the lyrics are written by us three. We would just go into the studio, put up the track and for some reason, the stars aligned and we killed it, man."

When it comes out, the record will boast 16 new Dr. Dre songs and feature appearances by Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, the Game and Xzibit, among others. Its release also signals an end to years of speculation about the release of Detox, the long-in-gestation, mythical album which he says he has abandoned. Compton, Dre has said, will be his "grand finale."

Compton is subtitled "A Soundtrack by Dr. Dre" and serves as a companion piece to the N.W.A biopic Straight Outta Compton, which will hit theaters next Friday. "During principal photography, I felt myself going to the studio and being so inspired by the movie that I started recording an album," Dre said on his Beats 1 program The Pharmacy earlier this month. "I kept it under wraps, and now the album is finished. It's bananas.... I'm really proud of this."

Regarding why he put the kibosh on Detox, Dre explained on The Pharmacy that it wasn't up to snuff. "This is something you're not gonna hear many artists say," he said. "The reason Detox didn't come out was because I didn't like it. It wasn't good. I'm gonna keep it all-the-way 1,000 with you, seriously. I worked my ass off on it, I don't think I did a good enough job, and I couldn't do that to my fans and I couldn't do that to myself, to be perfectly honest with you. I just wasn't feeling it."

Compton, however, is an album he's proud of. "I just wanted to do something special for Compton," the producer said.

One month after announcing his split from Jennifer Garner, sources reveal in the new issue of Us Weekly that Ben Affleck has a new flame: the ex-nanny to his three kids!

Nearly one month after announcing the end of his 10-year marriage toJennifer Garner, Ben Affleck has begun to move on. And the two-time Oscar winner, 42, didn’t have to look far to find a new romance. In the new issue of Us Weekly, multiple sources reveal Affleck has been dating 28-year-old California native Christine Ouzounian, a woman he and Garner hired as a nanny for their three kids this spring. The issue also features exclusive photos of the two.

When Ouzounian — an employee at a high-end Beverly Hills nanny agency — first started caring for Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3, Affleck and Garner, 43, were in the midst of a secret 10-month trial separation. The Arizona State University communications grad soon developed an attraction to the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star.

“They would hang out without the kids,” explains an Ouzounian pal. “And they were very flirty.”

When Garner discovered there was something going on between her estranged husband and Ouzounian, she let the babysitter go. But the ex-sorority girl wasn't cut from Affleck’s life.

The pair spent time together at Affleck’s new L.A.-area rental on July 17 and, says the Ouzounian pal, were in constant contact over text and email. “She says Ben really, really likes her,” says the friend. “She’s saying this is true love.” (A rep for Affleck tells Us “all allegations of a romantic relationship are baseless and untrue.” Ouzounian couldn’t be reached for comment.)

No jokes here. An emotional Jimmy Kimmel got choked up during his monologue on his late-night show on Tuesday, July 28, while discussing the death of Cecil the Lion, who was reportedly killed by dentist Walter Palmer earlier this month.

Kimmel expressed disgust with Palmer, who is accused of luring the famous lion out of a national park in Zimbabwe on July 6, shooting him with a crossbow, and tracking him on a 40-hour hunt. After finding Cecil, the American dentist reportedly killed, beheaded, and skinned the 13-year-old lion, who became famous as part of an Oxford University research project and is a star at Hwange National Park.

"Is it that difficult for you to get an erection?" Kimmel demanded in his monologue. "That you need to kill things that are stronger than you?"

Clearly outraged, Kimmel said Palmer taking Viagra would "save himself from being the most hated man in America, who never advertised Jell-O pudding." His reference to Jell-O pudding, of course, was a dig at Bill Cosby, who is currently accused of sexually assaulting more than 35 women.

The final moments of Kimmel's monologue were the most emotional and reflective as the comic requested that fans of Cecil make donations to Oxford's Wildlife Conservation Research Unit, which studied the famed feline. As he made the request, Kimmel teared up and noted to his audience that he wanted this narrative to become a "positive" one.

Kimmel isn't the only celebrity to speak out against Palmer. Animal lover Ricky Gervais, actress Debra Messing, Charmed alum Alyssa Milano, supermodel Christie Brinkley, and more stars have rallied in memory of Cecil the Lion.

Meanwhile, Palmer also addressed the killing in a statement on Tuesday.

"In early July, I was in Zimbabwe on a bow hunting trip for big game. I hired several professional guides and they secured all proper permits. To my knowledge, everything about this trip was legal and properly handled and conducted,” he told local Minneapolis outlet KARE11. “I had no idea that the lion I took was a known, local favorite, was collared and part of a study until the end of the hunt. I relied on the expertise of my local professional guides to ensure a legal hunt. I have not been contacted by authorities in Zimbabwe or in the U.S. about this situation, but will assist them in any inquiries they may have. Again, I deeply regret that my pursuit of an activity I love and practice responsibly and legally resulted in the taking of this lion."
