Samsung's flagship Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge due early next year will feature a pressure-sensitive display that functions similarly to 3D Touch on iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The next-generation Android-based smartphones will reportedly also feature high-speed USB-C ports that provide up to a full day's charge in under 30 minutes, and improved cameras that are optimized for low-light photography.
The report claims the Galaxy S7 will look similar to the Galaxy S6, but the rear-facing camera is said to be flush with the back of the device. The handset may also feature a retina scanner for new biometric features involving a user's eyes.
The Wall Street Journal says the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will launch in the U.S. in March, possibly around the time Apple introduces the so-called "iPhone 6c" and next-generation Apple Watch. Samsung is expected to announce the new devices around the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona in late February.
Samsung's Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge would compete with the rumored "iPhone 7," which could ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack in favor of an all-in-one Lightning connector alongside a faster A10 chip, new Intel LTE modem and possibly thinner design. Apple's next flagship smartphones will likely be released next September.

As the tidal wave that is The Force Awakens approaches, its rising tide has lifted all kinds ofStar Wars-related merchandise — apparently including the pornographic parody movie Star Wars XXX, which has seen a 500% increase in DVD sales since the beginning of December. That's according to the adult entertainment retail site GameLink, which isn't divulging how many copies of the DVD were sold

Star Wars XXX was filmed in 2012 for what the filmmakers described as "the highest budget ever" for a porn movie — substantially less than the $11 million it cost to make the movie it's parodying, but a big deal for the industry nonetheless. Many commercial drones, including those purchased over the holidays, must now be registered. According to the Federal Aviation Administration, starting February 19, all drones weighing between 0.55 to 50 pounds must be registered with their owners' names and addresses in a national database. Violators can face civil penalties of up to $27,500 and three years in jail.
Though people won't be able to look up users by name, they will be able to identify names and addresses from the drone's ID. The New York Times reports that disclosures are "meant to nudge users to be more responsible."
“Unmanned aircraft enthusiasts are aviators, and with that title comes a great deal of responsibility,” said Secretary of the Transportation Department Anthony Foxx.
A Helping Hand For Investigations
These new regulations are a response to a rash of public incidences with drones, such ascrashes at sporting events or those flying dangerously close to commercial airliners. Previously, it was difficult to identify the operator of a recovered drone when it endangered the public. This new database will make investigations much easier (even those conducted by neighbors).
Earlier this year when regulations were first announced, industry insiders expressed skepticism around a database.
"A national registry has serious implications for privacy," said Vice President of the Information Technology & Innovation Foundation Daniel Castro. "Journalists may want to use drone photography to investigate government or industry corruption, or citizen journalists may want to use drones as part of a protest. Rules should be written so that some legitimate anonymous actions are still protected where possible."
According to a FAA press release, the registration "does not yet support registration of small UAS [unmanned aircraft systems] used for any purpose other than hobby or recreation—for example, using an unmanned aircraft in connection with a business." Other exemptions or regulations are in the works. But, for now, if you're selling, buying, or getting a toy drone for the holidays, be sure to be aware of the new rules.

Just two days after Halloween, Activision’s spending a whole lot of money on candy—the publisher announced tonight that they’ve bought Candy Crush developer King for $5.9 billion. Yes, that’s BILLION.
The mega-acquisition has to go through approval in Ireland, where King is based, but Activision says they anticipate that everything will be official by spring of 2016.
So why is the video game publisher, best known for mammoth series like Call of Duty,spending this much money on such an unusual acquisition? Well, Candy Crush is one of the most lucrative games in the world, earning some $1.33 billion in revenue in 2014 alone according to a King financial statement. The studio, which operates Candy Crush and a number of similar games including Bubble Witch and Farm Heroes, grossed $529 million in the second quarter of 2015. They’ve also got access to a HUGE network of casual gamers that Activision can now access for all sorts of purposes.
Also, as Activision points out in a press release, this gives them a pretty solid monopoly on The Biggest Brands In Gaming:
