Muna’s Stepsister, Chinwe Obiekwe in an interview with Inside Nollywood During Muna’s Burial on February 3rd opened up to Chucky' blog and talked about Muna’s Illness saying his diagnosis and eventually his Death just happened within a year.

“He was sick from last year October. It wasn’t a normal kidney failure. It was high BP that prompted his kidney failure. It did not give us time to do the transplant because it was his two kidneys that failed. Assuming it was a normal kidney failure, it’s supposed to be one kidney. My uncles were planning to come back to Nigeria and operate on him and do the transplant then he died on Sunday (Jan. 18th). Through out the one year he was sick, we were going for the dialysis”

Asked why Muna had high BP, the sister replied

“Anybody can have high BP because of stress. It doesn’t mean family problem should prompt high BP, it comes with stress. He was taking his medicine but because he was always on set, in different locations, he didn’t have much time to drink his medicine properly.

Asked why Muna didn’t let his colleagues know he was sick and needed help, the sister said

“Muna is from a home. He’s a private person. That he didn’t bring out what was wrong with him to the internet is because he’s a man and my family was ready to operate on him. You don’t have to come to internet and start telling people ‘my kidney failed. I need money to help myself. No. At times some problems come to you and you know this is a problem that can be sorted by your family. Had it been we were stranded, then we can start calling people to come and help us. That Muna didn’t tell people he was sick is because he’s a private person.

“I am going to say this to anyone who says Muna didn’t open up that he was sick – I’m going to use this thing – Fuck them! Now that he’s dead, those people that said assuming he’d said he was sick they would have helped, did they come to contribute to his burial? Did they come to check on the family? They did not! We tried to handle, but God knows best.

$15/month HBO Now available today for Apple devices and on PC for Cablevision subscribers.

HBO Now, the premium network's online-only standalone streaming service, is available now for Apple devices and on PC for people who get their Internet through Cablevision's Optimum broadband platform.

Here's how to get started on your iOS device, courtesy of the HBO Now official description.

1. Download the HBO Now app.

2. Subscribe via an in-app purchase using your Apple ID, or log in with credentials provided when subscribing through a participating broadband provider.

3. Create your HBO Now profile and stream on iOS devices--iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch and Apple TV--or on the web at HBONOW.com.

Cablevision subscribers, meanwhile, can order HBO Now here. Cablevision is a major Internet service provider that covers the New York area. If you live elsewhere, you'll eventually have a chance to sign up for HBO Now on PC, as more providers will be added later.

None were named outright, but Comcast, AT&T, and Verizon are likely candidates.

HBO Now--not be confused with the existing HBO Go--is available for $15/month after a free 30-day trial. The appeal of the service is that you'll no longer need to pay for a pricey cable subscription to watch the network's entire suite of programming.

HBO Now could come to gaming consoles later, but the service is exclusive to Apple devices and PC for a period of three months. This timed-exclusivity arrangement was announced last month.

Three months may not be such a long duration, but it does cover the entire new season of Game of Thrones, which debuts this coming Sunday, April 12.

After excellent performances from Blake Shelton and Pharrell’s teams last night, the Playoffs continued on The Voice tonight, as artists from Christina Aguilera and Adam Levine’s teams took the stage to sing for America’s vote.
The Voice

Adam Levine Team Christina and Team Adam take the stage.

After a performance from Sia, Tonya Boyd-Cannon from Team Adam was the first artist up. She sang “Take Me To The Pilot” byElton John and gave a dynamic performance. It was quite the way to start the night, with Boyd-Cannon proving all the reasons why she has made it this far in the competition.

Also from Team Adam, Joshua Davis stepped up next to sing “Budapest” by George Ezra, which Levine thought was a perfect song choice to give him. The soft, gorgeous song indeed highlighted Davis’s strengths and allowed Davis to really stand out for the first time in the competition. Levine was smart to steal him from Shelton earlier this season.

Team Christina’s Sonic sang “I'm Going Down” by Mary J. Blige, another song choice perfectly suited for the artist. Aguilera is one of the most fun coaches to watch in the rehearsal sessions, as the little runs she spits out without any warm-up remind that she still has one of the most impressive voices in pop music (where’s the comeback album, Xtina?!).

Brian Johnson gave a soulful performance of “At This Moment,” and all of the coaches loved it. “You’re a perfect vocalist,” Shelton said, while Aguilera appreciated the more emotional sides of the performance. Johnson has been a consistently strong vocalist in the competition, and tonight he made his performance seem particularly effortless.

Singing “What’s Up” by 4 Non Blondes, Kimberly Nichole took the stage next and showed impressive vocal control over the song. “Because of you, Team Christina just lapped Team Adam,” Shelton said.

Lexi Davila, who sang “All By Myself,” is also a strong asset for Team Christina. She really blossomed tonight and showed the most improvement of anyone else in the competition. It was her personal best performance of the competition and one of the best of the night. Levine regretted giving her up, but Aguilera’s steal worked out in Davila’s favor, as Aguilera has been able to unlock her full potential.

Also emerging from his shell, Nathan Hermida sang “Chains” by Nick Jonas and showed a confidence and strong stage presence we haven’t previously seen from the young contestant. Though he showed a lot of improvement, he didn’t quite stand out when compared to a lot of tonight’s powerhouses.

Aguilera gave her own song “Hurt” to India Carney, who stepped up to the plate with a vulnerable and vocally sound performance that was up there with Davila’s as one of the night’s standouts. Carney’s place in the top 12 seems certain, so long as America is on the same page as the coaches, all four of whom gave her a standing ovation. Aguilera may have just proven she has the best team in the competition. The other coaches better watch out.

With another strong song choice, Aguilera gave Rob Taylor “Earned It” by The Weeknd. Pushed by Aguilera to not stick to the script, Taylor did a series of interesting and distinct runs in his performance. He nailed the falsetto and gave another one of the night's best performances, earning another four-coach standing ovation. Team Christina was truly on fire.

Closing out the night, Team Adam’s Deanna Johnson tried to overcome her nerves tonight. Levine gave her a religious song hoping it would make her feel more comfortable. It wasn’t quite a showstopper like Taylor’s performance, but Johnson showed improvement and didn’t let her nerves affect her pitch.

Overall, Team Christina truly outperformed Team Adam tonight. But now it’s up for America to decide who makes it into the top 12. Who’s getting your vote?

Looks like Square Enix's new Deus Ex game, the sequel to 2011's Deus Ex: Human Revolution, has leaked early. According to a cached version of Russian website Kanobu, the next entry in the series is called Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and is bound for PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One.

According to Kanobu's report, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will see the return of Adam Jensen, who will be outfitted with new augmentations and have access to new technology. A handful of screenshots purportedly from the game — some look like concept art and composites of previously released images of the new Deus Ex engine — show off howMankind Divided will look on current generation platforms.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided appears to be a first-person stealth-adventure game with third-person cover elements, and it looks like Jensen will have robust customization options for his weapons.

Square Enix is currently in the midst of a three-day promotional event being broadcast through Twitch. The game, from one of the company's Western studios, is widely speculated to be the new Deus Ex title. Square Enix filed a trademark application for Deus Ex: Mankind Divided in 2014.

We've contacted Square Enix for confirmation on details.

Update:

The new issues of Game Informer magazine confirms details on Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, reporting that the game is set two years after the events of Human Revolution. Jensen will be part of an Interpol-backed team that hunts down augmented terrorists. Square Enix tweeted that an official reveal is set for April 8, at 9 a.m. PT.

Early last month, Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studio teased a mobile version of Mortal Kombat to launch alongside the next iteration of the venerable fighting game franchise on console and PC, and as of just a few moments ago we noticed that Mortal Kombat X [Free] is actually already available in the App Store. Well… sort of. While it's showing up in the App Store, a couple of of us here have had trouble actually downloading the game, though Carter seemed to get his working. Go Carter! Your mileage may vary, but it's likely just a weird App Store SNAFU. Something similar happened with the launch of DuckTales last week but it was a temporary thing.

Problems aside, MORTAL KOMBAT ON MOBILE YA'LL! I'm so freaking excited to finally get my hands on this bad boy again. I say again because I actually played an early version ofMortal Kombat X at GDC this year, and liked what I saw very much. I'm a huge Injustice[Free] and Immortals [Free] fan, and Mortal Kombat X on mobile is along those same lines but better in pretty much every way. So hit up the download link below and let us know if you're able to actually download the game yet or not, and be sure to check out early impressions in our forums.

The completed sword and hilt.

Modern blacksmith artisans from ASBL Lucilinburhuc use old world craftsmanship to transform a meteorite into a sword. The meteorite is heated to form the raw material. Then it must be carbonized to transform the brittle iron and trace metals into hardened steel. For the carbonization process the blacksmith chiseled the meteorite material into 80×40mm pieces and heated them to glow for 6 hours to reach 0.5% carbon. Then more heating and hammering, shaping the metal into a rod that will be used to form the core of the weapon.

Sword without the hilt.

Once the meteoric iron is formed into a rod it is flattened and welded and with two other iron rods to make a pattern welded sword. The rods are heated and hammered to shape and remove impurities and quelched to rapidly cool and further harden the metal. The layering of different metal alloys from the meteorite combine with the earthly iron, making swirling patterns in the steel. These patterns are then highlighted with acid etching and polished to bring forth the natural beauty within the contours of the metal layers. The final product is a historic replica forged from extraterrestrial metal — a sword that’s truly out of this world!

Glowing metal in the forge.

In an apparent attempt to clear the air following Oba Akiolu‘s anti-Igbo comments that sparked public outrage, APC governorship candidateAkinwunmi Ambode met with Igbo traders in Lagos on Tuesday.

Pulse.ng reports that the traders assured Ambode of their support in the governorship elections scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 11th.

Someone must have called Olivia Pope! But is this situation really “handled”?

Snapchat used to feature a "best friends" list that showed both you and the world the people you regularly shared the most photos and videos with. The app canned this feature in a recent update, but it's now replaced it with another way to indicate your closest friends — emoji. Snapchat now uses a series of hearts, flames, and tiny yellow faces to show when you get a message from your best friend, your best friend's best friend, and others.

In a bid to explain the new and somewhat complex system, Snapchat sensibly illustrates it using pictures of Beyoncé. Receive a snap from the person you message the most, and if they are also your best friend, you'll see a heart. If your friend sends you the highest percentage of their snaps, but you have another best friend, you'll see a side-eyed smirk. If you get a snap from a person who has your best friend as their best friend too, you'll see a grimace. Other emoji are detailed inside the app itself, the only place the silent update was officially announced.

Unlike the original "best friends" list, Snapchat's new emoji friendship brackets aren't public, to the annoyance of users who kept tabs on friends and significant others by seeing who they were snapping with. Another new bracket has been introduced with this update, too — friends you haven't snapped with in a while will fall under the "Needs Love" banner, a bid to get you snapping with acquaintances to turn your buddy into a BFF, scoring Snapchat more engaged users along the way. The new update also brings a few technical changes to the wildly popular app, including a new low-light mode for your phone's camera, accessible by pressing a moon icon that now shows up at the top of the screen.

Twitter just officially launched its “retweet with comment” feature, which it began testing last summer.

“Retweet with comment” allows users to embed a tweet in their own tweets, which lets them get around Twitter’s 140-character limit when they write their own commentary. The feature is now available on Twitter’s site and iPhone app and will be available on its Android app soon.

Twitter previously let users embed quoted tweets by cutting-and-pasting its URL, but “retweet and comment” lets you do that by just pressing a button. The feature’s arrival has been heralded with much (somewhat ironic) rejoicing by Twitter users. Unfortunately, you can’t embed the full retweet and comment, as I just found out to my disconcertment while preparing this post (click on the embedded tweets to see how they look in the wild).
As my colleague Sarah Perez pointed out last year, however, the feature serves a serious purpose. For one thing, it allows people to share and comment on tweets without having to shorten the original tweet, which means that its context and meaning is preserved.

Forcing users to truncate their rambling thoughts into pithy soundbites was one of Twitter’s original charms, but as the platform matures, many influential users have been devising ways of getting around the character limit so they can use Twitter as their main public communication platform instead of, say, a blog. Hence the rise of “tweetstorms,” which were initially derided by many long-time Twitter users, but show no signs of abating.

Another popular way of getting around Twitter’s enforced brevity is posting screenshots of quotes from articles. This inspired the app OneShot, made as a side project by Twitter veteran Jason Goldman, a former VP of product at Twitter.

Of course, hacking Twitter’s character limit is nothing new. Users have been figuring out ways to enable their loquacity since the platform was launched with products like TwitLonger and JumboTweet. The official rollout of Twitter’s “retweet with comment” feature just puts an imprimatur on one kind of longform tweet.

Unfortunately, the feature only lets you quote one layer of tweets, so if you’re out of luck if you were hoping to perform a retweetception.

No need to act surprised, but there's almost certainly gonna be a new Call of Duty game this year. That's not news per se because for all I know, the apocalypse will arrive tomorrow (hopefully after breakfast!), but there's little doubt that the world's most reliable franchise will arrive again this November. The big question is: what sub-brand will it be? Modern Warfare? Advanced Warfare? Ghosts? A return to World War 2?

It looks like we'll see a return to the Black Ops series, if new viral marketing evidence is anything to go by. Activision has sprinkled Snapchat links throughout Black Ops 2 during a recent update, according to the above video by YouTuber Drift0r. The Snapchat link – which works like a QR code – links to the official Call of Duty Snapchat account which suggests that maybe, just maybe, we'll get an announcement via that social media platform at some point in the future. Could it be true?

It makes sense: Black Ops studio Treyarch is developing Call of Duty in 2015. The big question, after ten years of annual Call of Duty games, is whether it will feature an actual dog. That'd be cool. Perhaps a German Shepherd, with realistic fur. Wouldn't that be something.

Crystal Dynamics' Tomb Raider, the 2013 reboot of the action adventure series, has sold more than 8.5 million copies, publisher Square Enix announced today, more than any other game in the franchise's history.

Sales of Tomb Raider include the original versions for Mac, PlayStation 3, Windows PC and Xbox 360, and the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition re-release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Square Enix said it's sold more than 40 million Tomb Raider games since the series launched in 1996 on DOS, PlayStation and Sega Saturn.

Despite also setting day-one and first-month sales records for the series, Square Enix previously sounded disappointed in Tomb Raider's commercial performance. The publisher cited Tomb Raider when discussing "weak sales of big console titles" in North America and Europe in early 2013, and said that "despite the high critical acclaim" forSleeping Dogs, Hitman: Absolution and Tomb Raider, those titles failed to meet their sales targets (PDF).

The following year, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics sounded more positive about Tomb Raider, after it sold more than 6 million copies sold worldwide.

A new game in the series, Rise of the Tomb Raider, is coming exclusively to Xbox platforms, though that console exclusivity is for a limited time.

Son of late former governor of old Anambra state Chief C.C Onoh and former member of the Enugu state House of state, Dr Josef Onoh has vowed to drag the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu before the International Criminal Court of Justice over the anti-Igbo comments he made during his meeting

Speaking with Vanguard, Dr Josef Onoh said

"Let it be known that whether Oba Akiolu’s threat comes to fruition or not, I have concluded to take him to the ICC where he will keep company with the like Charles Taylor and answer to human right charges that will be preferred against him” he said

Popular Nollywood actor and producer Kunle Afolayan may have lost a lot of fans and the respect they had for him when he took to twitter to express his utter displeasure at how piracy is everywhere in Nigeria.

According to the actor Igbos are out to ruin and he further asked the wrath of God to strike Igbo pirates.

Igbo’s took to Twitter to bash and insult him for being tribalistic. He apologised for his rants, but it seems no one is buying his apologies. See his tweets and the comments that followed below:

ATMs located in highbrow areas in Lagos particularly in Victoria Island and Lekki, might have been compromised following reports of hackers planting fraud devices on some machines so as to get the pin codes and other details of the ATM cards of unsuspecting users and use them to carry out fraudulent activities.

A banker who spoke with Punch said "A number of the ATMs in Victoria Island and Lekki axis have been compromised by hackers. Some of these fraudsters visit those ATMs very late in the night or very early in the morning to fix some fraud devices on them, which are capable of collecting cardholders’ information, including their passwords. They come back later to remove those devices.

The information collected is then used to commit fraud against those customers later. Most of us (banks) are aware of the development and we are very vigilant now. What some of us have done is to get a patrol team of security men to start combing the affected areas and the ATMs from time to time. We will get those guys soon.” the anonymous banker said

Also confirming the report, the Vice-Chairman, Committee of e-Banking Industry Heads, Mr. Dele Adeyinka said banks have recently installed anti-skimming devices on their ATMs so as to checkmate such illicit activities.
“Yes, it is true that hackers are carrying out those activities. It is not only in Victoria Island axis, they are doing it everywhere. But all the banks have complied with the CBN directive on anti-fraud tools. So, it will be difficult for those fraud devices to work.”he said

While some of the cardholders’ information collected by the fraudsters were being used to commit online-related frauds locally, a large number was used to clone ATM cards and used to shop in malls abroad, especially in the US.

As a way to checkmate the activities of these fraudsters, the Central Bank of Nigeria in January this year issued a directive to all Nigerian banks to prevent payment cards (debit and credit) issued by them from working in fraud-prone countries, including the US, South Africa and China and that they would be liable for any fraudulent transaction carried out in those countries using a customers cloned ATM card. The CBN in another circular released on February 1, 2015, instructed all Nigerian banks to stop the payment/ATM cards from working in non-Europay, MasterCard and Visa countries. The circular stated that ATM cards that would work in designated countries must be activated only during the period the customer would be spending outside Nigeria.

The circular which was signed by the Director, Banking and Payment System, CBN, Mr. Dipo Fatokun, reads in part, “The occurrence of card present frauds in non-EMV environments is on the increase, especially when international hybrid cards issued by Nigerian banks are used in non-EMV environments like the USA. It has, therefore, become necessary for the CBN to issue the following directives and that all DMBs should do the following: collate all their card frauds abroad and send to the CBN not later than January 30, 2015; subsequently, all data on card frauds occurring abroad should be rendered on the NIBSS fraud portal; implement anti-fraud solution on their card management systems not later than January 30, 2015; ensure that from February 1, 2015, only customers that expressly indicated the intention of travelling to non-EMV jurisdictions would have their cards default to the magnetic stripe and for the period indicated by the cardholder only.”
