Two female suicide bombers believed to be in their late 20s killed themselves and two others in Ngamdu village in Kaga LGA of Borno state today. According to reports, the women, dressed in Hijabs with the bombs strapped under their clothes, boarded a bus in the village with the intention of blowing themselves up and killing all the passengers in the bus.

Luck however ran out on them after the bus driver suspected their movements and asked them to come down from his bus. Moments after all the passengers from the bus came down, the bomb on the women exploded killing just the two women and two other bystanders.

Yesterday, transgender woman Padge-Victoria Windslowe who is facing trial over the death of Nigerian dancer Claudia Aderotimi after a botched cosmetic surgery, told the court she couldn't be blamed for Claudia's death because she was good at her job and had many high profile clients, including Amber Rose. The woman swore under oath that Amber started receiving injections from her before she became famous and continued until two days before the 2011 death of Claudia.

Under cross-examination, Padge-Victoria (pictured right) said that Kanye West dropped off Amber at her clinic for one procedure when they were dating. She also claimed she was supposed to perform a "correction" on Nicki Minaj that never happened.

About Amber Rose, she said "Amber was like a walking billboard. She brought a lot of girls from VH1."

Asked by Assistant District Attorney Carlos Vega why they would choose an unlicensed practitioner over a LA plastic surgeon, Windslowe said, "I was the best, and I don't mean that to be cocky

There are at least 10 drugs that are more deadly than marijuana, including some that are legal, such as alcohol and nicotine, a new study by researchers in Germany and Canada finds.

In fact, drinking alcohol — the deadliest drug on the list — is about 100 times more dangerous than using marijuana, the scientists concluded in the study, which was based on data from animal studies and published Jan. 30 in the journal Scientific Reports.

Marijuana is labeled as a Schedule I drug in the United States, meaning that under federal law, it is illegal and cannot be used for medical purposes (although some states have legalized its use).

The new findings echo the results of previous studies, and lawmakers should take this research into consideration when drafting new policies, the researchers said. [Marijuana vs. Alcohol: Which Is Really Worse for Your Health?]

The low risk that marijuana poses to people's health suggests that the drug should be strictly regulated but not prohibited, the researchers wrote in the study.

But other experts say more analysis is needed in order to make a conclusion about marijuana's full impact. For instance, studies should consider the effects of the drug on people's behavior, as well as the impact it has on society, some researchers say.

"Lethality is not the only form of dangerousness," said Jonathan Caulkins, a professor of public policy at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, who was not involved with the study. "The lethality of a substance is absolutely relevant to the making of public policy, but it is only one part" of the bigger picture, he said.

In the study, the researchers calculated the health risk of each drug by looking at a measure called the "margin of exposure" (MOE), which is a ratio that compares the approximate amount of a drug needed to kill a person to the amount that people usually take. In essence, the MOE rates the likelihood that someone could take a lethal overdose of a drug: When the ratio is low, the drug is deadlier.

But tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active ingredient in marijuana, had an MOE higher than 100, meaning the chances of a lethal overdose are slim, the researchers said.Alcohol, heroin, cocaine and nicotine are considered high-risk drugs because their MOEs are less than 10, the researchers found. Other drugs — including MDMA, methamphetamine, methadone (a narcotic often used to treat heroin addition), amphetamine (a stimulant that treats narcolepsy and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) and diazepam (brand name Valium) — were a little less risky, with MOEs between 10 and 100.

However, there are several caveats to the findings. First, the numbers for the MOE are based on animal data, as it's not ethical or safe to test drug lethality in people. Also, the MOEs are calculated based on the use of each drug individually, whereas in real life, it's common for people to use several drugs at the same time, the researchers said.

Moreover, the MOE doesn't factor in other health risks associated with drugs, such as infections from unclean syringes, the researchers said in the study.

For the most part, the new study supports earlier work on the risk of death from drugs, Caulkins said. It's surprising that heroin is less dangerous than alcohol, but not that marijuana is relatively low-risk, he said.

But policymakers need to factor in dependence and addition, Caulkins said. Drugs can also impair decision making, driving ability and productivity, and children may experience abuse and neglect if their parents are dependent users of legal drugs, he said.

Emerging evidence also suggests that marijuana use may be associated with heart problems. For instance, two young men in Germany died after taking marijuana, according to a 2014 study in the journal Forensic Science International. Other research has found that marijuana use can change brain structure, and it's unknown what effects these changes might have.

Although the MOE values are interesting, more research is needed to determine the full impact of marijuana on health and society, Caulkins said.

A drug's lethality "has to be part of an analysis that considers these other things also," he said.

There are few more marketable athletes in the world than Cristiano Ronaldo, but it seems even the Real Madrid star can push his luck.

The Portuguese superstar is sponsored by Nike, which gritted its teeth as Ronaldo first launched an underwear line and then expanded it to include shirts.

However, according to a report in Sport, the American giant finally started flexing its muscles when Ronaldo said the CR7 brand was to launch a range of footwear.

According to the online English version of the Spanish newspaper:

Ronaldo launched the range of footwear at Milan Shoe Fair last week, with boots, loafers and dress shoes all included in the collection.

Prices for the items ranged from €100 to €550.

However, Nike were not happy and offered the 30-year-old an ultimatum: Drop the footwear range or lose your contract with Nike.

Sport is claiming Ronaldo has backed off and the footwear line has been withdrawn.

The Sport report claims Ronaldo earns €9 million a year from Nike, but other reports say that figure is much higher, with theDaily Mail suggesting Ronaldo signed a £14.1 million annual deal with Nike last summer.

Either way, he'd be wise to stay in its good books.

For a company on the brink of its most important product launch ever, Samsung appears to be uncommonly relaxed about the whole thing. A new Is This The Next? website from Samsung's Norwegian team introduces us to a set of amusingly exaggerated concepts for what the Galaxy S6 might look like. Will Samsung's next flagship phone have a three-sided display? Will it be durable, made wholly out of glass, and feature stereo speakers on the front? Samsung takes all the breathless speculation about its next flagship and produces a slice of smart humor that's endearing even to those of us that it mocks.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Secretary, Prof. Wale Oladipo, on Tuesday said former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s party membership card which was torn on his instruction was an expired one.

He made this known in Abuja while receiving some student union leaders under the aegis of Student Mobilisation Network Group (SMNG).

Oladipo explained that the torn card was the one issued by the party’s former acting National Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Barage, and ‎not the one issued by its current leadership.

Obasanjo had while hosting the executive members of PDP in his ward in his Abeokuta home, ordered the Chairman of the party in the ward, Alhaji Usman Oladunjoye, to tear the card.

Reacting, the PDP scribe said: “Baba is 80 and my mother is around Obasanjo’s age and when you reach that age, you do things that only you can explain.

“Secondly, you will see that Baba did not tear our card.

“He asked somebody to do the tearing and I am assuring you that the card that was torn was not the current PDP card.

“The current PDP card is signed by Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu and Prof. Wale Oladipo; so, the card he tore was a Baraje card, which we are going to destroy after all.”

On the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, Oladipo said that Buhari was not qualified to be president of the country.

He said that while President Goodluck Jonathan had insisted on crushing act of insurgents in the country, the APC presidential candidate said he would bring Boko Haram under control.

Earlier, the leader the students group, Mr Tekun Olanrewuju, said they were at PDP’s secretariat to pledge allegiance to its leadership and to give their support to Jonathan’s re-election bid.

He added that the students were supporting the PDP because they realised that the political future of Nigerian youths lay in the party.

Olanrewuju, who is the National Coordinator of the group, stressed that the achievement of Jonathan in all sectors of the nation`s economy qualified him for a second term.

He called on the PDP leadership to utilise the 5,000 students in University of Abuja, who had collected their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to its advantage.

Actress Osas Ighodaro is the cover star for the latest issue of MADE magazine as she stuns in chic looks styled by Tokyo James and photographed by Elenor Goodley.

The former beauty queen talks to the magazine about being in Nollywood, her confidence, her fiancé Gbenro Ajibade and much more.

Read excerpts from her interview below

On escapism: I believe everyone needs some form of escapism to handle a lot of the pressures life tends to bring our way. Some things I do as part of my own escapism traveling, going to the movies, enjoying the spa and meditating.

On Nollywood evolving: It most certainly has evolved and it will continue to do so. When one observes the acting and types of cameras used to the quality in editing and the movie theatre releases Nollywood at 20 years old is most certainly evolving and growing. I’m definitely excited to be a part of it. It’s an exciting time for the film industry not just in Nigeria but in Africa as a whole.

On her confidence: In terms of confidence it wasn’t an over-night thing for me. I had low self-esteem when I was younger. My parents put me through modeling and pageants to help me boost my confidence. I do feel a sense of pride when others are inspired by me because it was a long journey. Believing in oneself and knowing you are beautiful and amazing just the way you are will in itself exude confidence from within and outward.
