According to a report making the rounds that music star, Wizkid was arrested in Nairobi, Kenya over the weekend, for smoking ‘weed’ , the music star has come out to deny the claims.

A Kenyan publication, the Standard Digital News, which reported the news claimed Wizkid who was in the country for a video shoot and also to perform at a concert, was arrested at Nairobi Crown Plaza, a non-smoking hotel, where he was lodged.

“He was arrested when he was about checking out of the hotel after it was discovered he had smoked an illegal substance- weed. The hotel manager questioned him about the illegal act, which made them have a hot argument, before the hotel security men called in the police. On their arrival at the scene, the police arrested Wizkid with handcuffs and led him to the Capital Hill Police Station.

Even though he had paid the Sh50, 000 fine the hotel charges for breaking their rules, he was still taken away, before he finally sorted himself out. Wizkid was due to leave for Lagos at around 3pm and was forced to cancel the flight due to the drama” the online news portal reported.

Another source also made it known about the star’s alleged cancelled flight saying: “I was on that same flight with him, he didn’t cancel any flight, it was only delayed. He was on that flight which left Nairobi at about 4pm.“

The superstar however took to his twitter page to make comments on the success of his show in Kenya, he tweeted: “Was out last night..All i hear is Wizzy wizzy..lol !! Big up the Dj’s steady supporting me and my Team..God bless y’all abundantly….2 sick shows last night!!! I’m too tired but the hustle continues!! Young Don never sleeps.”

14-Year-Old Girl Gunned Down By Teen She Had Been Feuding With On Facebook Over A Boy

The squabbles between teenagers are turning into big fights in the modern world. The Chicago Tribune recently reported that one 14 year old girl shot at another 14 year old girl and killed her due to a quarrel over a boy. The situation was made worse due to facebook as the feuding happened on the facebook to begin with.

Girls fighting over boys and the vice versa is common and as old as gold. But what is new is the introduction of firearms in to these fights. According to Garry McCarthy, the Chicago Police Superintendent the girls were feuding over a boy. He added that, girls’ arguing over boys and boys’ arguing over girls is very common but bringing in a gun brought about the murder.

Martin was apparently tackled by the other 14 year old girl as she was returning home from school. The girl had a stolen gun with her. She apparently opened fire on Martin and probably shot her somewhere in the back. One bullet hit Martin’s friend a girl who was also with her. That girl was immediately taken a nearby hospital where her condition was said to be stable. Martin also was rushed to another hospital. But her injuries turned out to be fatal and she was soon pronounced to be dead by the hospital authorities.

The suspect has been arrested and charged with murder but as a juvenile. According to McCarthy, the Police Superintendent, a 17 year old boy and the teenager’s uncle will also face charges. These charges are related to the stolen gun the girl used for the shooting. These two might be accomplices who brought the gun to the scene. Later they were also trying to abandon the gun, which was the murder weapon. The gun was legal to begin with but later it became an illegal weapon, according to the police.

According to Kent Kennedy, Martin’s step father, his daughter had lost her life over a small quarrel over a boy. The squabble was on facebook between the two teenage girls, he added. He said that they were just having a verbal fight and suddenly the girl shot his daughter. He also added that the whole thing did not make any sense. He wondered how one child could kill another. Kids are dying very young and unnaturally nowadays, he added. He also said that it is terrible for parents who have to bury their own children.

Kennedy said the family had wanted to generally keep Martin safe and therefore moved her to the new school she was attending, during the tragic incident. They had thought Tilden Career Community Academy would provide a safer environment for Martin and shield her from any possible violence. She was just a freshman at the school. He also said that his step daughter loved music and also loved to dance.

Kennedy sent a very stern message to the 14 year old accused on the behalf of their whole family. He warned that this was not going to go away. He said that they would not rest till the accused is prosecuted fully. He added that the accused, along with the people who had helped her, the crowd who walked along with the teenager with a gun, were all equally responsible and completely guilty.

SAN FRANCISCO — It has long been an open secret in Silicon Valley:Timothy D. Cook, the chief executive of Apple, is gay.

But Mr. Cook’s public acknowledgment of his sexuality, published in an essay in Bloomberg Businessweek on Thursday, could empower others, both in the tech industry and in corporate America more broadly, to speak out and push for more inclusive workplaces.

Praise for Mr. Cook on Twitter was widespread, from former President Bill Clinton and corporate chieftains to gay workers at tech companies.

“Thank you Tim for showing what it means to be a real, courageous and authentic leader,” Facebook’s co-founder and chief executive, Mark Zuckerberg, wrote on the social network as he shared Mr. Cook’s essay with his followers.

Sundar Pichai, a top Google executive who oversees most of the company’s products, tweeted publicly to Mr. Cook: “Really inspiring and this will make a difference.”

Robert Glaser, co-founder and chief executive of Real Networks, a maker of media player software in Seattle, said in an interview that Mr. Cook’s example would inspire countless others.

“Life is about role models,” said Mr. Glaser, who has worked in the tech industry for three decades. “If you’re a 14-year old kid and you find the C.E.O. of one of the most iconic companies in the world happens to be gay, you’ll think, ‘There’s no limit on what I can do.' ”

Vivienne Ming, a technology entrepreneur who was born a man and went through transgender surgery in her 30s, said that Mr. Cook took pains to emphasize that being gay is both core to who he is and also merely one part of him.

The implicit message to young people, she said, is that they can embrace their ethnic or sexual identities and still be successful.

“If you, too, are gay and feel like you can’t do it — you’ve been told that you can’t be C.E.O. or a politician because of who you are — it’s not true,” said Ms. Ming, who is co-founder of Socos, an education technology company, and vice chairwoman of StartOut, an entrepreneur group for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

She said that Mr. Cook was particularly deft when he wrote, “I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me.” The wording, she said, directly addresses anyone who might use religion to condemn him.

Silicon Valley, with its nonstop focus on the future and its location in one of the most socially liberal parts of the country, has long been publicly supportive of gays and lesbians.

Major tech companies field large contingents in San Francisco’s annual gay pride parade, with some top industry leaders, including Mr. Zuckerberg and Mr. Cook, personally leading their companies’ marchers.

And Silicon Valley has been ahead of the curve in extending employee benefits to same-sex partners and spouses.

But tech companies, particularly start-ups founded and staffed largely by young white men, have also struggled to deal with a fraternity-like “bro” culture inhospitable to women and gay people of both genders.

The industry has few prominent executives who are openly gay. Among them are Megan Smith, who oversaw Google’s experimental projects and recently joined the White House as chief technology officer of the United States, and Jason Goldberg, the chief executive of Fab.com and Hem.com, two New York e-commerce companies.

Mr. Glaser said some of his gay friends in tech still felt uncomfortable coming out and believed the industry discriminated against them.

Edward Lazowska, a professor of computer science at the University of Washington, said most technology companies, like most universities, have policies that say they are open to women, gays, lesbians and members of minority groups.

“But down at the rank-and-file level is where these policies are put into practice, and that’s where many of us fall short,” he said. “My view has always been that the majority of people have good intentions, but inadvertently create an unwelcoming environment for people who are not like them.”

Wesley Chan, an early Google product manager and angel investor, who is gay, said that Mr. Cook’s essay would resonate far beyond Silicon Valley, where his sexual orientation was generally known and accepted.

“In the rest of the world, where it’s not that obvious, people will sit there and go, ‘You can be gay and be the C.E.O. of Apple,' " Mr. Chan said.

Grace Poore, director of Asia and Pacific island programs at the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission, said that depending on his next steps, Mr. Cook could have great influence on political leaders and business partners in Asia, where gays and lesbians face a great deal of discrimination both culturally and under the law.

“He needs to make statements that say we need to treat all employees fairly,” she said. “He needs to make sure Apple doesn’t close its eyes to ongoing discrimination and ongoing hostility to L.G.B.T. people in the workplace.”

Mr. Glaser said that Mr. Cook’s public disclosure of his sexual orientation could help defuse the issue for others in the world of business, much like the 1997 disclosure by the actress and comedian Ellen DeGeneres that she was lesbian did for the entertainment industry.

“It would be wonderful if we could get to that point in civic culture,” he said.

"Welcome to New York" is not just a song title

She may hail from Pennsylvania and draw the strongest associations with Nashville, but Taylor Swift is New York City’s newest ambassador for tourism. NYC & Company, the city’s official marketing and tourism organization, announced Swift’s new role this morning, launching a series of promotional videos in which the singer defines essential New York vocabulary — such as “stoop” and “bodega” — and explains her connection to the city.

“New York kind of pulled me here like a magnet,” she says. “I was intimidated by the fact that it was bright and bold and loud. And now I know that I should run towards things like that.” Swift says the city was integral to the development of her new album, 1989, inspiring her songwriting and providing the backdrop for a period in her life characterized by possibility and excitement. If the album’s first track, “Welcome to New York,” wasn’t written in anticipation of this new gig, it certainly sounds like it could have been.

As Swift herself sings, “Haters gonna hate,” and the response to her ambassadorship for a city she’s barely lived in has been mixed. Swift moved to New York only recently, and she splits her time between Manhattan, Beverly Hills and Nashville. New Yorkers are notoriously stingy in awarding the label “New Yorker” to anyone who wasn’t born and raised among them, and Swift’s recent arrival gives her more in common with the tourists she’s attempting to attract than the residents of the city itself.

So no, she’s by no means a logical choice, if we’re basing logic on street cred alone. There are countless entertainers with strong ties to the city who might have better appeased New Yorkers (see Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, whose New York-themed anthem is among the most beloved in years). But that’s just it: NYC & Co. is not looking to appease the people who already live here. They’re looking to draw the people who don’t — 55 million each year, to be precise.

And besides, New York is a city of immigrants and transplants, made interesting by its intermingling of newcomers and originals. NYC & Company’s press release makes ample use of the word “welcoming,” a preemptive retort to those who would be anything less than hospitable to one of its newer residents. As Swift sings in “Welcome to New York,” “Like any real love, it’s ever-changing.”

No relationship builds that quickly, especially ones that come after an explosive breakup or divorce.

I wouldn’t be surprised to hear that Amber Rose is plotting a grand take-down of the Kardashian family as revenge for getting her boyfriends ‘stolen’ from her. After all, Kim Kardashian got a huge career boost from dating and marrying Kanye West, something that Amber Rose never got with Wiz Khalifa. She’s probably bitter and angry that Kim stole the life that she thought was rightfully hers, and now she’s trying her best to get it back by hooking up with Nick Cannon and homewrecking his marriage to Mariah Carey.

In the end, I think it’s most likely that Amber Rose and Wiz Khalifa were cheating on each other, and I’m sure their dirty laundry will start airing once their divorce proceedings start in earnest. Amber should be worrying about that rather than trying to win her ex-husband back from the Kardashian black hole.

“I would like Emma to give Elsa a bit of a makeover, because I think Elsa would love a pair of jeans in Storybrooke, because her dress catches on a lot of trees and gets very muddy. Emma is so practical. We are out running errands and she is nearly tripping on this cape. Emma would get out a pair of scissors, she would have been, like, jeans, t-shirts, go. It would be cool to have a makeover montage, where she practical-izes Elsa.”

When asked how she thought “Frozen” fans would react, she said, “That’s the thing... is that her outfit is so iconic. I don’t know. The show has done it with the other characters. I just don’t know if we will have time for an Elsa makeover. That is part of the fun of the show... how these beloved, archetypal characters translate into the modern world, so I think that would be fun to see for Elsa. I’m not sure if it will happen.”

Apparently, Robert Downey Jr. has everything he could ever want, from A to … well, he definitely has the “A” part covered.

The Iron Man star revealed in a BBC Radio One interview that Marvel gave him the 30-foot-tall “A” that appeared on the Stark Tower sign inThe Avengers after he asked for it as a joke.

"On the last Avengers, there’s this scene where there’s this ‘A’ which is probably 30 feet tall, and I’m looking at it, and we’re shooting in England, and I go, ‘I need that in my office in Venice,’ ” Downey said.
