Meek Mill, 27, appeared in a Philadelphia court on July 11 for sentencing after allegedly violating his parole from a 2008 drug and gun conviction. After hearing about his return to jail, the rappers fans have started tweeting with the hashtag #FreeMeekMill to show the rapper support and hopefully lessen his slammer sentence.

Meek Mill’s most passionate fans are sounding off on twitter after their idol was sentenced. From outrage to disbelief to support, the tweets are rolling in!

Some fans are upset that Meek’s next album and tour might be pushed back because he’ll be behind bars. Others simply can’t believe that Meek will be back in jail once again. Some are just plain angry. Here are just some of the rappers fan’s reactions:

Meek has been on probation from a 2008 drug and gun conviction. The rapper was sentenced 11 to 23 months in prison in 2008, but only served eight months. He began five years probation in 2009. He’ll now spend 3-6 more months in jail for violating his parole from a previous conviction, according to TMZ.

Prosecutors became wary over recent incidents with Meek, including Meek posting a picture of himself holding a gun, Philadelphia’s FOX 29 says in a report. The rapper also scheduled concerts without getting approval first — and even changed his cell phone number, according to TMZ. The rapper is reportedly in custody right now.

Those in Meek’s camp claim the District Attorney has a vendetta against the rapper and he’s been unfairly targeted.
